About Us
Our mission at Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District is to implement programs for the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources. We provide technical assistance and a variety of specialized programs to residents, landowners, and local government units, promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship across Oswego County.
As an authorized agency and political subdivision of New York State, we were established by an act of the Oswego County Legislature in October 1945. Since then, we’ve dedicated ourselves to serving the community and fostering partnerships that support land and water resource management for a healthy, resilient environment.
Our programs cover a wide range of services to meet the needs of Oswego County residents, from GIS mapping and environmental assessments to soil health initiatives and conservation guidance. We’re here to support individuals, communities, and local governments in protecting and enhancing our natural resources for current and future generations.
